Daw Aung San Suu Kyi born June 19, 1945 in Rangoon, Burma (which is now known as Yangôn, Myanmar), is a nonviolent pro-democracy activist in Myanmar. In 1990 she won the Sakharov Prize for Freedom of Thought and in 1991 she won the Nobel Peace Prize.
